Dr. George Wright

Mathematical Statistician, Computational & Systems Biology Branch

Biosketch:

Dr. George W. Wright has been a member of the Biometric Research Program since he received his doctorate in Statistics from the University of Maryland in 2000. His primary work has been to develop molecular models of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in collaboration with the lab of Dr. Louis Staudt (CCR/NCI) and the Lymphoma/Leukemia Molecular Profiling Project (LLMPP). Over that time, he has gained extensive experience in the analysis of a large number of genomic platforms, and he has also co-authored numerous papers, resulting in his being recognized in 2019 as a Highly Cited Researcher by the Web of Science. Diagnostic tests he has developed include the MCL35 proliferation assay and the Lymphoma Subtyping Test (LST), both available from NanoString, as well as the LymphGen genomic subtyping algorithm.

Research Interests

Statistical methodology for high dimensional data genomic analysis
Cross platform translation of biomarkers
Molecular characterization of Lymphoma
